THE LONG TRAILS:
The Adventurers also hike other "long trails" in the U.S.:
1) Pacific Crest Trail : Zigzagging it's way from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon and Washington - The Pacific Crest Trail (PCT) passes through six out of seven of North America's ecozones - including high and low desert, old growth forest and arctic-alpine country. You will never see the Sierra Nevada like this any other way than to hike the PCT.
If you'd like to hike an unforgettable week on the Pacific Crest Trail...

2) Continental Divide Trail : as close to a "Lewis & Clark" experience as you can get - and much of it literally does run through some of the historic expedition's path!
We specialize in week-long treks of the Montana section of this trail - so if Grizzly watching is your game, the Atlanta Adventurers is our name!

3) Pinhoti Trail : if you think 'Frisco and the Smokys can get foggy - you ain't seen nothin' 'til you've hit Alabama's Cheaha Wilderness on this trail! More than 80 years after Appalachian Trail founder Benton Mckaye envisioned a path extending "south to Alabama", his dream has become a reality and Alabama's storied Pinhoti National Recreation Trail now connects to the Appalachian Trail - giving hikers the first-ever opportunity to walk the entire, ancient Appalachian range.
One of our most popular, week-long hikes starts on the Pinhoti trail in Alabama and treks into Georgia / Springer Mt. and the start of the Appalachian Trail !

4) Bartram Trail : this 118 mile trail climbs from Alabama into Georgia and then finally into North Carolina - and was recreated from the journals of famed naturalist William Bartram - who has been called "the Lewis & Clark of the Smokys". Bartram quite literally discovered the amazingly rich diversity of flora and fauna that flourishes only in the Appalachian Mountains - as the Revolutionary War blazed on around him (1773-1779)! His accounts of his bushwhacking epic, "Travels" - was called "the most amazing literary work of the new republic" at the time that it was published.
We offer day hikes on pieces of this trail, multi-day hikes to fit your schedule, a "favorite week on the Bartram trail" highlight trip, and a 2 week "thru-hike" that will take you from the beginning of this trail to the end!
This trip is not only a beautiful adventure - but it's a great, educational field trip as well. We'll be quoting William Bartram's descriptions of the spot where you will be standing - from 250 years ago!
As a tribute to the naturalist William Bartram - we highlight teaching about the flora and fauna on these Bartram Trails trips more than any other trips we offer - no matter which length of hike you select!

5) Mountains-to-Sea Trail : as the name says - this trail will go from North Carolina's highest peaks to the sea when finished - and the large chunks that exist now are stunning!
The Atlanta Adventurers offer week-long hikes of this trail that can include ascending Mt. Mitchell!

6) Benton Mackaye Trail : dedicated to the founder of the Appalachian Trail - this trail starts in Georgia and ends in Tennessee. It's a great alternative to the Appalachian Trail - and it's a bit "wilder" - the way that Benton had wanted the Appalachian Trail to be.
